Will Muskoka politicians leverage Internet tools too?
Hello from Muskoka Community Network:
With Web 2.0 tools such as Blogs, RSS feeds and Facebook accounts available to Federal, Provincial, Territorial, Municipal, and local politicians, it will be interesting to see if local politicians add these new tools to their communication strategies.
In the U.S., candidates for the presidential election are using the latest Internet tools to reach new audiences using Web 2.0 technology. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9048959&intsrc=hm_list
ABC News and Facebook have teamed up to create a new tool that will provide news coverage on the campaign directly to Facebook users.
This communication medium is very powerful because it delivers specific news to Facebook users who want to keep informed about the campaign. The Facebook subscribers are exposed to ABC's content each time they login to their FaceBook account.
Obviously this is good for ABC, and keeps Facebook subscribers informed. Candidates will certainly need to be working very hard to add their own content and information to Facebook. If the candidates don't work the media through Facebook they will be at a disadvantage compared to candidates who do.

Get Trained Workers
Hello All:
I have just read in August 2007 edition of "North Country Business" that several agencies across Northern Ontario have come together and provided technology that matchs job seekers and job hunters. This is being done through the website http://www.gettrainedworkers.com/
This kind of regional web prescense helps create "web density" in Northern Ontario. In Muskoka we also need to continue to work on creating web density for our region. The work that "Muskoka Tourism" http://www.discovermuskoka.ca has done in expanding their web prescense assists in helping all businesses in Northern Ontario and Muskoka.
Way to go folks, keep up the good work.
Cheers
Rob McPhee
